Cage of Conceptualizing

We are so concerned with our own worries, hopes, and desires, so preoccupied with personal problems, so heavily burdened with beliefs, traditional routine, with the past or the future, that we shut ourselves in a cage of our own conceptualizing, and are unable to either truly see or listen. It is this lack of attention and intention that has made ineffective and inconsequential the teachings of those who have transcended the phenomenal barrier and have attempted to describe for us the path that they have traversed.
